Why not give your postal code?
When give people your address, just give them the postal code as well. It is much easier to search online using postal code.
In fact, just giving postal code and unit number is enough. Since the postal code tells of the street and the block.
Eg. My house
Postal code 160001
Do a search using "Singapore 160001" on http://maps.google.com immediately gives you my address. (without unit)
